World's Biggest Black Money Market: India.

Well everyone here must be familiar with the recent news on the Indian black: How government gets the names of the account holders of Swiss Bank, how and what will be the proceedings, will government bring back the black money..etc etc. But what is it actually is known to a handful of people.
The rising of a black money is a major challenge to a developing country, especially India. Black money, in simple terms, means the money on which tax is not paid or the money that is obtained illegally as in the form of bribes. The black money in India is a good issue of extempore. Since India obtained its independence, black money is on the verge of increase since then. The Government of India, at that time, did not took any major steps for controlling the black money outflow. The major causes of the rising black money in India today are that high rates of taxes and large number of taxes on the Indian shoulder. When any businessman (probably working on a small scale) earns a little profit, he has to give about 20% of his income as the taxes ( I'm not talking of one tax, but number to taxes here). So if he is not to get something more for his and his families stomach how and why shall he pay the tax. Naturally he shows a little amount infront of the income tax department and pays only a little. To effectively curb this the Government should reduce the number of taxes and should also reduce the rates of the taxes, and more and more number of the population should be brought under the Tax System. Let us suppose that out of the 110 crore people, today only 20 crore fills tax, suppose Rs. 10 each with average income of Rs.20 each. Govt. will get Rs. 200 crore. Now in the next step assume that 50 crore people are made to pay a tax of Rs 4 each, supposing their average income to be Rs 15 each. Then also the government will get the same thing. Also in contrast, everybody will happily pay the tax as the tax rate will be less and people can enjoy more profit.
Now, lets see for the bribes. Do you know what is the monthly salary of an average hawaldar working in the police station? He just get barely up to  Rs 4000-5000. So now I leave the reader to imagine how he will sustain his and his families lives with such less amount in hand and that too in this extremely inflated world ? Naturally he will have to find a other way out of these crisis and that way is the bribe. What they think that let's take a little bribe and let the accused be free, after all who is going to ask me ? The Indian Govt. selects the best of the best brains from the UPSC's competitive examinations. These then are give the IAS post throughout the country but what about their payment ? They are also poorly fed by about Rs 10000-14000/ month. So what shall they do? The States are appointing food inspectors in their respective states to check the adulteration and quality of the food stuffs. But they are even worse paid as Rs 3000/month. Don't you think that it is not possible to them for sustaining their lives ? On the contrary, if their payment is increase to upto Rs. 60000-70000/month, wont they live happily ?
Advani seen to demand black money back in India
Now-a-days you ll must be updated with the news of the Govt.'s steps to bring the black money back in India. The black money from India is mainly deposited at the Swiss Bank and the German Bank. Now why these two banks only ? The answer is very much simple. Whenever we go to deposit our money in the bank, the bank first asks from where the money has been brought and whether the required tax on the amount has been paid or not and demand these legal documents. But the above mentioned two banks are such that just give them money they do not ask anything and the money is safely deposited ! That's all. Well if anyone provides such a banking facility naturally the line for making it our daily part is a long one. On the part of Indian's, the chairman of International Monetary fund says that, India may be a poor country but Indians' are not. He says that according to the Bank's statistical report to the IMF, it is seen that is the Indians uses their money for National Reconstruction, it is possible to build 4 lane road to any village from Delhi, everyone can be fed atleast twice daily and everyone will have adequate housing and clothing facilities ! Well the Govt. till date has taken some measure to curb out the black money.
The Govt. has now entered into a treaty with the Germany and Switzerland for getting a list of the account holders in the bank. Accordingly with help of the Supreme Court, they have issued notices to the account holders and as Govt. has promised to declare the names of the account holders to the Indian public. Well Govt. seems to act a little but this was to be done in the past only. And still more interesting is that many of the ministers themselves have their accounts in those banks, but when the name will be declared then only we'll know the truth. Black money, as declared by the Supreme Court, in it's true sense is the theft of the Indian wealth. But now we just have to keep our eyes on the updates. May they who betrayed Indians' get not anything less than death. JAI HIND !

Govt. just "showing up" responsibility ?

Well after the shocking incident of Yashwant Sonavne, I think the government still hasn't awakened. The Govt., I admit is only corrupted but they don't have any sense of responsibility toward the masses, that what the masses are suffering and what are and maybe the consequences of the same. The shocking news that had spread like a wildfire came on January 25th, 2011, that some oil mafias have burnt alive a ADM while he was making a shooting of the black oil mixing in the petrol.
Everybody, including the central government was stunned after hearing about this horrifying incident. I have personally tried to find out the causes for this deadly incident. From my point of view it mainly includes:
  1. The corrupt police department play a major role in this. They are being bribed (of-course they willingly accept it) for continuing the hardcore, bad and implicit business of the mafia. So directly the mafias and police force are best friends.
  2. The local political leaders not only support this business but they must have partnership in it. Without the political support such happening in our country is quite impossible. The culprit must not be having fear of the arrest as the police as well as the political system stood by them.
  3. Lack of action by the police is also one of the major cause of this I think. Even if considering that the local police do not support the business then why didn't they took action after knowing about the illegal business of oil mafias ? Was the police force (probably the only hope of security of common man) was sleeping for these days ?
    4. Lack of fear of the rest of the world. The mafias didn't had the fear of the             other common people as they never raise voice against it. And even if                     anyone try to raise voice against it, they were sure to destroy his household.

India is not new to such of the incidents as many of these kinds have already taken place but were not responded to by the media. But this incident became so outraged that 17 lac government servants went on strike. But to no effect. The corrupted council of chief minister now start thinking that merely to stop the people from angry feeling against the government. The government by having raids on the mafias in these 4-5 days just want to prove that our government is very serious about the issue of the oil, sand and milk mafias. Every government is corrupt I admit it again but not till the end of any ADM's life. In a country where Afzal guru and Ajmal Aamir Kasab, the one who killed so many are still alive, what fear these mafias have after looking at them ? I thats why really impress that we are federal in nature and democratic too. But the people are taking much advantage of it. So I think a communist or a dictator type government will surely solve our crisis if the people take to the wits-end.
What impression the youth is getting in our country. It is said that "violence breeds violence." And I'll surely admire it if it makes our country strong. Take example of China and Russia. In Russia these cases alaong with terrorism occur but do you know what happens with the culprits if they are found alive. The news doesn't come of it, because they execute the culprits themselves and no pardon is granted. But the law process is so much slow in India that the punishment takes decades and still the culprit is not sentenced. The laws such be so strict and so fast that no one should even dare to stand against it. The government has started the raids everywhere but you and me both know for how much long it will last and how many will be really sentenced ?  Most of them escape unhurt due to bribing the judges and political interaction. See people yourself how are the people really at heart- merciless. Well mercy is not my topic. Just I wanted to make you aware of the fact that what kind of petrol or diesel your are filling in your car tanks- all mixed and adulterated.... Well at last, if you come across anything such like that feel free to contact the nearest police station (even of they dont act, we know, then also). Call a revolution against it. And finally "Together we can make a difference." Jai Hind !

The Public Distribution System in India.

Well,  the Public Distribution System as we know are the fair prices shops located all over India that give essential goods to the consumers (especially to the BPL population)  at a cheap price. But the number of these PDS shops have grown over the years subsequently its development cannot be seen. Lets see some of its facts:

Though the number of the PDS shops have crossed 5,00,000 since its inception but still no improvement in its facilities. The PDS stock comes from the reserved stock of the Government of India, but that stock is so much piled up that it is getting spiders and rodents. This defect is mainly due to the less outtake from the PDS shops and its maldistribution and wrong storage methods due to the unskilled workers. The PDS stock sometimes doesn't reach to the shops because if the food corruption. The distributers sometimes take their share while delivering it and take so much that nothing is left behin.., the poor are told that the stock hasn't arrived yet and he has to pay a high price of his hunger.
A study carried out by the committe appointed by Hon'ble Supreme Court of India following results were got:

The rotting food stocks of PDS in Govt. godowns

After touring various states and scrutinising the operation of PDS system through fair price shops, the committee headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice D P Wadhwa used following terminology for different states:

* PDS in the state has collapsed (Rajasthan)

* PDS system is glaring example of what the system ought not to be (Jharkhand)

* beneficiaries get ration of a month after a delay of 3-4 months (Bihar)

* fair price shop owners admitted they bribe officials concerned even to get FPS licence and pay monthly bribe (Gujarat)

* appointment of grain storage agents susceptible to high political influence (Orissa)

* enforcement lax, collusion between officials, investigating agencies, dealers, wholesalers and other vested interests (Karnataka)

* foodgrain sold at excessive prices at the fair price shops (Uttarakhand)

But the most damning comments were reserved for Delhi, the national capital. Apart from terming the PDS as inefficient and corrupt, the committee said in its report to the apex court that "there is largescale diversion and black marketing of PDS foodgrain".
You will be surprised to know that the corruption in the PDS system is Rs 3,58,00,00,000 per year(358 crore/year) isn't that a whooping amount ! The shop owners often ask for a bribe to the poor (about 61% people admit that), the bribe taken is mostly shared by the owner and the distributer. The shop owners often keep odd timing of the shops so as to limit its access to the people. In most of the cases it was found that shop owners keep shops open a the dawn and close it suddenly. Artificial hoarding of the goods is one of the most important factor contributing to the hunger of the poor. For more details in a good view format please visit : PDS Survey . The PDS stocks sometimes doesn't reach the villages due to their poor transport system. The poor are often mispriced by the shop owners.
Can you believe that this is the condition of the place from where the poor in India tries to fulfill his daily needs. Can you now see the injustice on your brothers and the sisters ? Have you any answer to this ? The answer is surely "no". But we may change it as I always say "Together we can make a difference." If you come across any injustics from the PDS on the poor feel free to phone call at: 6573 4444. JAI HIND!

Corruption: The Indian menace.....

India what we and the world says as the land of values is somewhere degrading. The values are being lost in the wake and the back-light of being wealthy. All the world is suffering from the menace of the corruption but none other than a vast, largest democracy and the second fastest developing economy like India will be affected by it. Corruption has become everyday topic of the discussion of the  (awakened) youth. It has affected various strata of our society. Let's talk in briefly about some facts of the corruption.
Now the issue of corruption is such that none in our country can be added to its exception. Corruption is everywhere. From a "tahasildar", maybe till the highest post in India (President). India is the second largest growing economy in the world. But its most dangerous challenge is the corruption. In India the people are the main cause of the corruption. Whenever a official demands bribe people are openly giving it.
See the above video even if you don't read the blog post. According to the World Anti-Corruption report 2007, India ranked 72nd in the world's most corrupted list, while in the list declared at the end of 2010, India dropped to 87th rank ! A fall by 15 ranks in the list. While USA has backed a position of 22nd and Norway ranked 1st. Thus you may see that India's rank is falling day by day. In India the most main problem lies due to the poor judiciary. Whenever a man files a case against the corrupt officer, the justice gets so delayed that the work of the man remains pending for a long duration. So people in India generally give a small amount and get their work done. But no one thinks that because of his one bribe what will be effect on the economy of the nation. Bribe means black money on which no tax is paid. Hence, literally this is the theft of the Indian money.
The basic values that are being taught in the school, the teachers are only not imitating them, what will be the impression on the student who sees this. Todays Indian youth is mainly indulged in the creative activities, but he never realizes that cleaning the country of corruption is one of the most creative things. Youth in India has no give and take for the corruption. Very very few NGO's like AGNI in Mumbai, India unheard that is a video volunteer network etc. Do you know that the rate of corruption is so high in India that every 3rd Indian is corrupted. Well that's maybe a proud thing to be different, but that hampers our progress. Every one just criticizes the policies and the corrupt nature of the officials but no one dares to raise its voice.... why ? The most main reason for this is time and fear. People don't have time for this and secondly they fear of the execution techniques of violence followed by the victims. But Indian's listen, if this things would have had become a barrier then India would never have got independence. Just remember those great souls and go on for the struggle. I want to name an RTI activist Arun Mane in Pune. He is working for removing corruption voluntarily. Recently he was attacked and just suffered minor injuries due to his self defense. His mother was crying for him but he said that nothing had happened to him and these things wont detour his work against the corrupted.
Please readers if you come across any of the corrupted officer just make a contact to:-

What Indian's Lack In...

Now this is for the first time I'm having a post. So I may make some mistakes about it. This blog is mainly for spreading Civil Education in India. So my first post is about the manners about the Indian's. My posts title is "What Indian's Lack In...," is clearly emphasized for making a greater effect on the reader. 'Manners', a merely 7 alphabetical word is the lacking. What the British people refer to us is savage or uncivilized.
                                                                          (Our Locality)
The pic that you can see above is the specialized view of our locality. I am properly from Ahmednagar. First I used to think that Ahmednagar is the only place which is dirty in India. But after travelling to other places like Pune, Mumbai (very bad) and states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, I realized that localities in India are very dirty. The major cause for such dirtiness I realized is the carelessness about the surroundings. People generally keep their homes clean and all the waste is thrown out of the house (probably in any open area nearby). The Britishers do not entertain Indian's much (except a few), as they believe that we will surely make THEIR country dirty. When I was on Thailand tour, the tour leader instructed us that this place is not like India to spit anywhere on. Speaking truth, all the people on our tour were laughing, but somewhere in my mind I felt ashamed. Whenever I talk with my friends that that our country is very very dirty, they reply that what to do ? we are bound to live such state. I think BOUND means what ? We are born here and its our moral duty to keep our motherland clean.
                                                       Slum in Dharavi (at Mumbai)

Now talking a bit about the people in India and their mentality, I want to tell the reader about the second side of the same coin --- The local governance. The local governance in India has become very much corrupted. They have no moral in uplifting the locals but they just want money money and money. In our Ahmednagar, there is a "virtual" Municipal corporation, for none of the councillor is such whose example can be taken. The politics in Ahmednagar has worsoned over the years. Very few dustbins and no cleanliness of present situation in our locality.
Such an unattained people and bad governance has resulted in the hampering of manners promotion in our country and thats why my first topic was about ditiness in the locality. People entirely rely on the government to clean up the locality. My dear friends this is not possible. Old say that government should give dustbins to the locality and everything will be clean. I completely agree upon them. But yesterday only I saw a woman throwing garbage at the side of the dustbin though the fact that the dustbin was completely empty. What can you deduce from this ? India lacks something... manners, literacy and love for motherland. The last point may become controversial for some of you, but what I mean here is that we all love our country but prevent to develope it. So today, My Countrymen, lets take an oath to develop India heartily and solely. After each of your action see that my land doesn't become dirty. Why not to carry the plastics packets of wafers or anything else after eating from it in public ? Make a self-introspection. JAI HIND.
